A motivational talk show was organised in the school auditorium on the occasion of World Health Day, observed on 7 April, with the objective of creating awareness among students about the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle.
The highlight of the programme was the presence of Dr. Yashwant Singh, Sports Head and In-charge at Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS), who was the esteemed speaker of the day. Dr. Singh addressed the students with great energy and shared valuable insights on the role of regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and discipline in maintaining good health. He emphasized that good health is the foundation of academic success and a fulfilling life.
During his interactive session, Dr. Singh spoke about the growing health challenges among youth due to sedentary lifestyles, excessive screen time, and substance abuse. He motivated students to actively participate in sports and physical activities as part of their daily routine. He explained how regular exercise helps in improving physical strength, reducing stress, enhancing concentration, and building self-confidence. He also strongly advised students to stay away from drugs and harmful substances, highlighting their long-term adverse effects on both physical and mental health.
The talk show concluded with a pledge ceremony, where all students solemnly pledged to exercise daily, adopt healthy habits, and avoid drugs to lead a fit and responsible life. The pledge reinforced the significance of World Health Day and encouraged students to take personal responsibility for their well-being.
At the end of the programme, the Principal of the school, Mr Dinesh Mehta, also addressed the students and motivated them to lead a healthy, disciplined, and balanced life. The Principal emphasized that health is true wealth and urged students to follow the guidance shared during the session in their daily lives.
