A motivational talk show was organised in the school auditorium on May 19, 2025.This special occasion also marked the formal induction of our newly selected student council—young leaders who pledged to serve with dedication, discipline, and a sense of responsibility. The programme was graced by Col. Gyan Prakash Pandey, Commanding Officer, 3 Haryana Girls Battalion NCC, Hisar, as the Chief Guest. Col. Pandey has been serving in the Indian Army for the last 35 years and is a proud alumnus of the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun. His vast experience, disciplined life and inspiring personality left a deep impact on the students.
In his address, Col. Pandey highlighted the importance of yoga in improving concentration. He explained that regular practice of yoga and pranayama calms the mind, improves focus and helps students manage stress effectively. He encouraged students to include simple breathing exercises and meditation in their daily routine to enhance mental clarity.
While speaking on improving concentration, he advised students to set clear goals, follow a fixed study schedule and avoid distractions such as excessive use of mobile phones. He emphasized the importance of single-tasking and regular revision for better academic performance.
Col. Pandey also spoke at length on avoiding procrastination. He described procrastination as a major hurdle in students’ success and suggested breaking tasks into smaller, manageable goals and completing work on time. He stressed that developing the habit of starting tasks immediately builds confidence and reduces anxiety.
On the topic of discipline, Col. Pandey shared valuable insights from his army life. He stated that discipline is the foundation of success and can be developed through punctuality, self-control and consistency in daily habits. Discipline, according to him, transforms ordinary individuals into responsible and successful citizens.
He further highlighted the role of the Students’ Council in nurturing leadership qualities. He explained that participation in the council develops decision-making skills, teamwork, accountability and a strong sense of responsibility among students, preparing them for future leadership roles.
Lastly, Col. Pandey emphasized the importance of spirituality in student life. He stated that spirituality helps students stay grounded, develop moral values and maintain inner peace, especially during challenging times.
The talk was highly motivating and enlightening. Students felt inspired to adopt discipline, spirituality and positive habits in their lives. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Col. G. P. Pandey for his invaluable guidance and inspiring words.
