Senior Secondary Model School, Hisar has completed sixty four years of its existence. During this period the institution's contribution has been laudable and it has emerged as one of the leading educational institution affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The school is recognized for its progressive education with a definite accent of Indian culture and tradition. It came into its existence due to the untiring efforts of a visionary, Late Pt. Thakur Dass Bhargava, M.P., an eminent lawyer, a distinguished parliamentarian, a well known educationist and a social reformer.

The aim of his vision was to fulfill the academic needs of the students of this area, to impart liberal and sound education combined with traditional values of our heritage, to produce a whole some personality with multi use competencies, to awaken students about national issues and to produce responsible citizens. The school was very well nurtured by dedicated social workers and personalities like Advocate Bhakshi Ram Kishanji and Advocate Babu M.P. Jain in the capacities as president of the school. The present management committee headed by Smt. Krishna Bhargava is nurturing the school with their special efforts to make true the dreams of the founder father Late Pt. Thakur Dass Bhargava. The school provides a host of activities and the curriculum is so planned that it suits the different stages of development.

The students are offered all the three streams-Science, Commerce and Humanities at the 10+2 level. The school's achievement in academics has been remarkable with cent percent results. Every year a number of students make it to the medical, engineering and other professional courses. Besides academics, students have brought laurels to their institution by exhibiting outstanding performance in various national level & inter school competitions in art, music, dance and sports. Senior Secondary Model School students are expected to be industrious, disciplined, respectful and obedient throughout their life. The school does its best to impart a meaningful educational programme to help the students to develop an all-round well integrated personality with sense of plurality in every respect that is so essential to the national and individual progress. Late Pt. Thakur Dass Bhargava, M.P., a distinguished parliamentarian translated his vision and dream into a rambling school campus, spread over a vast area. The aesthetically appealing building on the campus include the academic wing, playgrounds for all school level games and sports and a special beautiful separate arrangement for nursery and primary kids. The school being away from city life provides a tranquil serene atmosphere, so essential for an educational institution. The school is situated near HAU on the main road to mini secretariat Hisar. It is easily approachable because of its central location. The school has sprawling campus, magnificent lawns, playgrounds, botanical garden, well equipped laboratories, a sufficiently independent computer lab and pollution free atmosphere.

"An institution is a special environment where a certain quality of life and certain types of activities and occupations are provided with the object of serving child development along desired lines." Dewey
